Name: Omar Barghouti

Controversy: Spreads antisemitic propaganda comparing Jews to fascists. His BDS movement has connections to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, both designated terrorist organizations by the US State Department; he defends intifada and supports the destruction of the Jewish state. He expects the world to boycott Israel as he attends Tel Aviv University. He promotes disruptive protests in the US, and rejects the two-state solution while advocating for a single Arab state.

Other Controversies: In March 2017, Barghouti was arrested in Israel for tax evasion of about $700,000. Maintains close connection with Rashid Khalidi.

“Good riddance! The two-state solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is finally dead”, and that in a one-state “by definition, Jews will be a minority.”

You cannot reconcile the right of return for refugees with a two state solution. That is the big white elephant in the room and people are ignoring it — a return for refugees would end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state. The right of return is a basic right that cannot be given away; it’s inalienable.” -Interview with Electronic Intifada, May 31 2009
